Privacy Policy

As a counselling and coaching practitioner, I am committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with care and transparency, in line with the BACP Ethical Framework and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

What information I collect:
I collect only the information necessary to provide you with a safe, effective, and ethical service. This may include your name, contact details, relevant background information, session notes, and any communication we share.

How your data is stored:
All records are stored securely, either in password-protected digital files or in locked physical storage. I take appropriate measures to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss of your data.

Why your data is used:
Your information is used solely to support your counselling or coaching process, ensure continuity of care, and comply with legal and ethical obligations.

How long your data is kept:
In accordance with BACP guidelines, counselling records are retained for 7 years after our work together ends (or until the client reaches 25 if under 18), after which they will be securely destroyed. Coaching records may be retained for a shorter period, typically up to 3 years, unless otherwise agreed.

Confidentiality and sharing:
Your information is kept confidential, and will only be shared with others (e.g., a GP or emergency services) if there is a risk of serious harm, or if I am legally required to do so. Wherever possible, I will discuss this with you first.

Your rights:
